Tehran States It Might Return to American Nuclear Negotiations if Treated with 'Respect' and 'Honor'
Iran is prepared to restart nuclear negotiations with Washington as long as it is approached with "respect" and "respect", Iran's foreign minister has declared.
Abbas Araghchi stated solely negotiations produced results, and disclosed new appeals had originated from intermediaries to reopen negotiations with the American leadership. He claimed Iran did not have secret atomic facilities, and Iran was not yet able to permit the global atomic watchdog to visit struck enrichment centers for safety concerns.
Navigating a Challenging Route
Araghchi is navigating a difficult course since Iran aims to avoid be perceived to be operating from a stance of disadvantage, and he insisted repeatedly that Iran had arisen more resilient in military terms and emotionally from the joint assault on its enrichment centers in June.
He was speaking at a defense forum in Tehran where he restated that Iran had "an absolute privilege to enrich uranium domestically that it will always maintain" – the main reason of the impasse in the previous talks.
Previous Talks Suddenly Terminated
The previous five rounds of talks between the United States and Iran were ended suddenly and acrimonious end on 12 June when the Israeli government, with Washington's assistance, attacked Iran's enrichment centers in a fortnight-long engagement that culminated with the American leader declaring the sites had been destroyed. Subsequently, Western states exercised their privilege to restore global restrictions, but Iran maintains they have not had a significant effect.
Perfect Agreement Offered
Iranian officials said they felt they had achieved a "ideal resolution" to the uranium processing matter in previous talks, when it was settled an Iran-based consortium with Washington's engagement could enrich uranium. The two nations would have been able to claim victory since home-based processing would have continued and the US could be certain that Iran's nuclear programme was entirely non-military.
It had not been settled in the negotiations that American atomic experts could operate within Iranian territory, but that was a reasonable assumption of the consortium proposal. Officials stated three times they had secured an understanding with Trump's special envoy the American negotiator only for the agreement to disintegrate due to "detractors in America".
Existing Position
Iranian officials declared the partnership proposal was now no longer available, but it seems quite possible the offer could be revived in some form if discussions reopen.
The American leader in recent days stated he had been obtaining communications that Iran wanted to reopen negotiations, but confidentially Tehran representatives claim they are not yet receiving coherent offers from the United States either directly or from important Middle Eastern intermediaries, such as the Qatari government, the Egyptian leadership, Oman and Saudi Arabia. The Iranian foreign ministry has been criticized of non-responsiveness in the aftermath of the US president's straightforward manner, but Iran asserts dialogue is not part of a show.
Negotiating Stance
In his remarks to the forum, designed to paint the US as a controlling nation that abuses the concept of worldwide standards, Araghchi stated the 12-day war revealed the dispute could not be ended by combat operations. He stated the assaults started with a American requirement for an unconditional Iranian surrender and concluded with an unconditional call for a halt to hostilities.
Iran is certain the opening assaults from Tel Aviv were carried out with complete American awareness and collaboration, making confidence difficult to reestablish.
Negotiations Continues the Final Answer
The foreign minister declared: "It was not Iran that had abandoned dialogue; it was America and the western countries that had repeatedly attempted to enforce their demands during the discussions. Negotiations can still be active and stays the primary answer to settle conflicts, but its criteria, regulations and principles must be adhered to."
"In case they address to the nation of Iran with the approach of dignity and respect, they will receive a response in the equivalent language."
Restoration and Reconstruction
In what is characterized by Tehran representatives as the battle of recovery and rebuilding, Araghchi claimed he was assured Iran's defence capabilities "are much stronger than preceding 13 or 14 June of this year. All our capabilities have been rebuilt. We acquired many lessons from this conflict; we have come to know our internal vulnerabilities and the vulnerabilities of the adversary."
He added: "We effectively endured this war. Our nuclear technology, which they intended to obliterate, stays intact. The sites and gear, if destroyed, will be restored; what is essential is the determination of the citizens of Tehran and then the unity of the country that they sought to undermine, but did not succeed to destroy. The Iranian people have developed stronger, more united, and more supportive of the government and the country in the wake of this assault."
